Creating a classical color scheme part one: color selection / by Richard Holton

Bringing out the beauty of a plaster ceiling is about creating a beautiful harmony of colors tones and hues. How they relate to the plaster design and to each other is what results in the visual symphony. More than just color is considered. The hues are separated into secondary and  tertiary shades. Then I like to use a chalky paint that later is waxed to give a beautiful patina that centuries add naturally to complete the effect.
